Congratulations to our U16 Black team for placing 3rd in the Tier 1 Mid Fairfield Summer Invitational by beating the Ironbound Elite (Newark, NJ) 5 - 0.  According to Coach Ed Rodham, "Overall, the team played very well especially given their limited practice time. WELCOME MESSAGE

As we head into the 2017-2018 hockey season, we are proud to be the largest girls-only program in Southern Connecticut, with over 230 participating, including 72 new players! With the goal of being the best player development program in the region, we are always looking to offer players of all levels more opportunities while remaining true to our core principles.

In a Welcome Message to families, Shoreline Sharks President Ed Rodham highlighted important changes heading into the 2017-2018 season:

  • Joined the prestigious New England Girls Hockey League (NEGHL)
  • Expanded to twelve (12) travel teams (U08 to U19)
  • Added National tournament-bound teams at the U16 and 19 age levels, bringing us to four (4) teams eligible for USA Hockey regionals and nationals
  • Increased our Connecticut Girls Hockey League (CGHL) teams to seven (7) with multiple CGHL teams at the U10, 12 and 14 levels
  • Broadened our best in class goalie training program
  • Grew our Sharks Hockey Development Program (Learn to Play/Skate)
  • Incorporated every other week skill sessions for players in addition to their normal team practice
The letter also reinforces our player-centric focus, which is actualized by a talented and dedicated team of almost 40 top-tier coaches, including eight newly-added female coaches. Skill development is our priority, which is why all of our coaches are certified in the USA Hockey American Development Model (ADM).  They are trained to drive progression through effective age-specific, skill-based practices and provide the appropriate level of support and challenge to help each player realize her full potential and gain confidence inside and outside the rink.
